Installation Procedure

- Clean the old lubricant from the splines of the rear propeller shaft slip yoke and the front propeller shaft.
Loosely install the NEW propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (1) to the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2).
- Install the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2) to the rear propeller shaft slip yoke (3).
- Apply NEW lubricant to the splines of the rear propeller shaft slip yoke and the front propeller shaft. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Align the reference marks made during removal.
Rear Propeller Shaft (1)@Front Propeller Shaft - Install
Propeller Shaft(1)@Pinion Flange Assembly (2) - Install
Rear Propeller Shaft Retainer(2) - Install NEW[2x]
- Rear Propeller Shaft Bolt(1) - Install NEW[4x] - Front and Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (With M5U) , or Front and Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (With MYD) , or Front and Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (Chassis Cab with MYD) , or Front and Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (Chassis Cab with M5U)
- Ensure that the propeller shaft slip yoke boot is properly installed to the grooves on the bearing and boot retainer and the rear propeller shaft slip yoke.
Use the J-43218 Clamp Pliers - Narrow Jaw (1) to crimp both propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
