Installation Procedure

    Loosely install the NEW propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (1) to the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2).

  2. Install the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2) to the propeller shaft slip yoke (3).
  3. Inspect the splines of the propeller shaft slip yoke for a sufficient coating of lubricant. If the splines of the slip yoke do NOT have a sufficient coating, lubricate the internal slip yoke splines with clean transmission fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Propeller Shaft(1) - Install

  5. Align the reference marks made during removal.

    Propeller Shaft(1)@Transmission Output Shaft (2) - Install

    Propeller Shaft(1)@Pinion Flange Assembly (2) - Install

    Rear Propeller Shaft Retainer(2) - Install NEW retainers. Do NOT reuse old retainers.[2x]

  9. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  10. Rear Propeller Shaft Bolt(1) - Install NEW bolts.[4x]Tighten  25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  11. Ensure that the propeller shaft slip yoke boot is properly installed to the grooves on the transmission output shaft and the propeller shaft slip yoke.

    Use the J-43218  Clamp Pliers - Narrow Jaw (1) to crimp both propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (2).

  13. Lower the vehicle.
