Installation Procedure

Loosely install the NEW propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (1) to the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2).
- Install the propeller shaft slip yoke boot (2) to the propeller shaft slip yoke (3).
- Inspect the splines of the propeller shaft slip yoke for a sufficient coating of lubricant. If the splines of the slip yoke do NOT have a sufficient coating, lubricate the internal slip yoke splines with clean transmission fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Propeller Shaft Center Support Bearing Shield (1) - Install
Propeller Shaft(1) - Install with assistance.
- Align the reference marks made during removal.
Propeller Shaft(1)@Transmission Output Shaft (2) - Install
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Front Propeller Shaft Bearing Nut (1)@ Propeller Shaft Center Support Bearing (2) - Install and tighten[2x]40 N.m (30 lb ft)
Propeller Shaft(1)@Pinion Flange Assembly (2) - Install
- Remove the jack supporting the front and rear propeller shaft.
Rear Propeller Shaft Retainer(2) - Install NEW retainers. Do NOT reuse old retainers.[2x]
- Rear Propeller Shaft Bolt(1) - Install and tighten the NEW bolts. [4x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
- Ensure that the propeller shaft slip yoke boot is properly installed to the grooves on the transmission output shaft and the propeller shaft slip yoke.
Use the J-43218 Clamp Pliers - Narrow Jaw (1) to crimp both propeller shaft slip yoke boot clamps (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
