Removal Procedure

    Steering Column - Remove - Steering Column Replacement 

  2. Remove the Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Seal (1)

    Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft (3) @ Steering Column - Remove - Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Steering Wheel Position Sensor - Disconnect

    Remove the Steering Wheel Position Sensor Retainer (1).

  6. Steering Wheel Position Sensor (2) - Remove
  7. NOTE:
    • When reusing a steering wheel position sensor, you MUST install a pin into the sensor before removal or the sensor will lose its centered position and MUST be discarded. The pin diameter must be in the range of 1 - 2 mm (0.04 - 0.08 in).
    • A NEW steering wheel position sensor will come with a pin installed in the sensor. The steering wheel position sensor will ALREADY come centered. Do NOT remove the pin until the steering wheel position sensor is properly seated.
    • During installation, the steering wheel position sensor MUST be set with a gap between it and the steering angle sensor adapter of approximately 3 mm (0.12 in).
