Installation Procedure

- If required, code the NEW ignition lock cylinder.
- NOTE:
The gears between the ignition and start switch and the ignition lock cylinder case MUST be in the correct position. The incorrect position will cause a misalignment of the gears in the ignition and start switch and the ignition lock cylinder case MAY result in a NO START or BATTERY DRAIN condition.
Use a flat screwdriver (1) to rotate the ignition lock cylinder case gear clockwise to the START position, then release the gear, allowing it to return under spring tension to the RUN position.
Perform the following steps to install the ignition lock cylinder (1):
- Install the ignition lock cylinder into the ignition lock cylinder case until it locks in place.
- Pull lightly on the ignition lock cylinder to ensure the lock tab inside of the ignition lock cylinder case is fully engaged.
Install the key chime switch (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case.
- Install the steering column trim covers. Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)
- Program the theft deterrent system. Control Module References
