Fuel Tank Draining

Special Tools 

CH 45004  Fuel Tank Siphon Hose

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) .
  2. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Insert the CH 45004  hose into the tank.
  5. Attach the CH 45004  hose to a hand or air operated pump device.
  6. Using a hand or air operated pump drain as much fuel from the tank as possible.
