Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 GMC Savana 3500, 2019 GMC Savana 2500, 2019 Chevrolet Express 3500, and 2019 Chevrolet Express 2500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Test for 6, 000 to 6, 200 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 4
    • If not between 6, 000 and 6, 200 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 6, 000 and 6, 200 ohms 
  2. Operate the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever - Upshift
  3. Test for 600 to 700 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 4
    • If not between 600 and 700 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 600 and 700 ohms 
  4. Operate the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever - Downshift
  5. Test for 1900 to 2100 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 4
    • If not between 1900 and 2100 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 1900 and 2100 ohms 
  6. All OK.
