Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LWN) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LWN) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LC8, LV1, L96) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE47716 LC8, LV1, L96)

    Coolant Recovery Reservoir (1) - Remove - Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (LV1) , or Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (L96, LC8)

    Plenum Drain Tube (2) - Remove - Plenum Drain Tube Replacement (Without LWN) , or Plenum Drain Tube Replacement (With LWN)

    Heater Inlet Hose (3) @ Heater Core Inlet Tube - Remove - Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN with C69) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN Auxiliary Heater Inlet Hose) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN Water Pump Inlet Pipe to Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN without K08 Engine Coolant Thermostat to Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN without C69) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LV1 without C69) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LV1 Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Front Tube to Heater Core Inlet Tube with C69) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8 Heater Water Flow Control Valve to Heater Core Inlet Tube) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8 Water Pump Housing to Heater Water Flow Control Valve) , or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (L96 Heater Core Inlet Tube to Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe)

    Heater Outlet Hose (2) @ Heater Core Outlet Tube - Remove - Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LWN with C69) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LWN Auxiliary Heater Outlet Hose) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LWN Water Pump Inlet Pipe to Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LWN without C69) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LV1 Water Pump to Heater Core Outlet Tube without C69) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LV1 Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Front Tube to Heater Core Outlet Tube with C69) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8 Heater Water Flow Control Valve to Heater Core Outlet Tube) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8 Water Pump Housing to Heater Water Flow Control Valve) , or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (L96 Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe to Heater Core Outlet Tube)

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster-Right Side (1) - Remove - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Right Side)

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket (1) - Remove - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement (Left Side) , or Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement (Right Side)

    Front Floor Console Extension Panel (2) - Remove - Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement

    Engine Cover (1) - Remove - Engine Cover Replacement

    Remove the right side floor front air outlet center duct (2). Floor Front Air Outlet Center Duct Replacement - Right Side 

  11. Reposition vacuum hose harness.
  12. Reposition the instrument panel electrical wiring harness.
  13. Reposition the mobile telephone wiring electrical harness.

    Cut the heater core cover at the cut line indicated by the arrows using the appropriate tool.

    Heater Core Cover Screw (1) - Remove [7x]

    Heater Core Cover (1) - Remove

    Heater Core Clip Screw (1) - Remove

  18. Heater Core Clip (2) - Remove

    Heater Core (1) - Remove

  20. Transfer components as necessary.
