Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following system/component:
    • B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
    • B66 Intake Air Temperature Sensor
    • B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
    • Fuel System
    • Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set 
  3. Verify the scan tool parameter: EGR Temperature Sensor 1, = -39 to 999°C (-38 to 1, 30°F)
    • If not the specified value 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the specified value 
  4. Verify the scan tool parameter: EGR Temperature Sensor 1, & IAT Sensor 2 = Not within 20°C (36°F) of each other
    • If not the specified value 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the specified value 
  5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  6. All OK.
