Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC P0403, P0405, P0406, P1402, P1407, P140F, P1424 is not set.
    • Go to next step: If DTC P0403, P0405, P0406, P1402, P1407, P140F, P1424 is not set 
  3. Verify the condition does not exist:
    • Air Cleaner Element - Saturated with water/Restricted
    • Exhaust System - Leaking/Missing components/Restricted - Refer to: Symptoms - Engine Exhaust
    • Intake Manifold - Leaking
    • Intake Air Duct - Loose Clamps/Cracked/Visible Damage
    • Mass Airflow Sensor - Contamination of the measuring element/Water intrusion
    • If a condition exists 

      Repair or replace as necessary.

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Replace the component: Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  5. All OK.
