Circuit/System Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 GMC Savana 3500, 2019 GMC Savana 2500, 2019 Chevrolet Express 3500, and 2019 Chevrolet Express 2500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The charge air cooler (CAC) temperature sensor 2 is a variable resistor. The sensor is located in the CAC outlet duct after CAC assembly. Its signal is used by the ECM to measure the temperature of the intake air leaving the CAC. The engine control module (ECM) supplies 5 V to the signal circuit and a ground for the low reference circuit. The ECM continuously monitor s the sensor signal for an excessively high or low voltage, or for a start-up signal that is not in c or relation with the ambient air temperature signal.
