The charge air cooler (CAC) temperature sensor 2 is a variable resistor. The sensor is located in the CAC outlet duct after the CAC assembly. Its signal is used by the ECM to measure the temperature of the intake air exiting the CAC. The engine control module (ECM) supplies 5 V to the signal circuit and a ground for the low reference circuit. The ECM monitor s the sensor signal for a start-up signal that is not in c or relation with the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor 3 start-up signal and fuel temperature sensor signal.
