Installation Procedure

- CAUTION:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
NOTE:Following the procedure steps will prevent dislodging any wax from the fuel feed intermediate pipe fitting nut threads and ensure a proper seal.
Perform the following steps to install the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (2) and tighten the fittings (1) to the fuel injection fuel rails:
- Hold the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe in the installation position.
- At each connection point, slide the fitting nut backwards along the pipe to reveal the sphere.
- At each connection point, carefully seat the sphere to the mating socket and hold the sphere firmly to the socket while finger tightening the fitting nut.
- Tighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the fuel feed pipe bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe- Position 2 - Install NEW - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement - Position 2
- Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
NOTE:
If a fuel leak occurs at either of the fuel injection fuel rail fittings, the corresponding component will need to be replaced.
