Installation Procedure

- Install the new rear wheel speed sensor ring and retainer to the differential bearing adjusters on both sides or as required.
Install the wheel speed sensor ring, retainer, and bearing adjuster assemblys (1 and 2) on both the left and right sides or as required. The ring retainers are attached to the differential side bearing adjusters via a clip type system.
- Install the differential taking care to avoid damage to wheel speed sensor and/or retainer. Differential Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) , or Differential Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle)
- Install the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels) .
- Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Caution must be exercised when inserting/replacing the differential or axle shaft to avoid damage to the rear wheel speed sensor ring and/or retainer. If the sensor ring or retainer is damaged at any point in this process, the damaged components must be replaced.
NOTE:
The shaft will need to be carefully inserted through the sensor ring and then again into the differential side gear. DO NOT USE A HAMMER to force the axle shaft through the sensor ring interface.
