Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)
  3. Remove the rear axle housing cover. Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) , or Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) 
  4. Remove the axle shaft. Rear Axle Shaft Replacement 
  5. Remove the axle shaft seal and bearing using J-44685  Rear Axle Seal and Bearing Remover and J-2619 - 01  Slide Hammer W 1/2 x 13 Adapter.
