Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the axle lubricant. Differential Oil Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) , or Differential Oil Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) 
  3. Remove the rear axle assembly. Rear Axle Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) , or Rear Axle Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) 
  4. Remove the rear parking brake anchor backing plate. Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Replacement (JH9) , or Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Replacement (JH6)
  5. Remove the differential. Drive Pinion and Ring Gear Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) , or Drive Pinion and Ring Gear Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) 
  6. Remove the drive pinion. Drive Pinion and Ring Gear Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle) , or Drive Pinion and Ring Gear Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) 
  7. Remove the drive pinion shaft yoke and the seal. Drive Pinion Flange/Yoke and/or Oil Seal Replacement (9.5 Inch Axle) , or Drive Pinion Flange/Yoke and/or Oil Seal Replacement (10.5 Inch Axle)
