Installation Procedure
Apply high temperature brake lubricant to the rear parking brake shoe contact surfaces on the rear brake shield (1)in the locations shown by the arrows. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Rear Parking Brake Shoes (3) - Reposition
- Rear Parking Brake Return Spring-Inboard (2) - Install
- Rear Parking Brake Return Spring-Outboard (1) - Install
Spread the rear parking brake shoes (1)and install the rear parking brake shoes with the rear parking brake return springs to the rear parking brake actuator lever (2)as an assembly.
Rear Parking Brake Shoe Pin (3) - Install [2x]
- Rear Parking Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring (2) - Install [2x]
- Rear Parking Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring Cup (1) - Install [2x]
Rear Parking Brake Shoe Adjuster (2) - Install
- Rear Parking Brake Shoe Adjuster Spring (1) - Install
- Adjust the rear parking brake shoes. Parking Brake Adjustment
Rear Brake Rotor and Hub Assembly (1) - Install - Rear Axle Hub, Bearing, Cup, and/or Seal Replacement
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)
- Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling
The inboard rear parking brake return spring is to be positioned toward the rear axle housing tube.
The outboard rear parking brake return spring is to be positioned away from the rear axle housing tube.
Use an appropriate tool to compress the rear parking brake shoe hold down spring and cup and rotate 1/4 turn to engage to the rear parking brake shoe pin.
