Removal Procedure

  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Disable the park brake cable adjuster. Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling 
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Parking Brake Rear Cable- Right Side (1) @ Parking Brake Cable Equalizer (2) - Disconnect

    NOTE:

    Use an appropriate tool to depress the cable retainers to disengage the right parking brake rear cable from the frame.

    Parking Brake Rear Cable- Right Side (1) @ Frame - Remove

    Parking Brake Rear Cable- Right Side (1) @ Parking Brake Rear Cable Clip (2) - Disengage [2x]

    Parking Brake Rear Cable Clip Bolt (1) - Remove

    Perform the following procedure to remove the right parking brake rear cable (2) from the rear parking brake anchor backing plate (4).

    1. Compress the right parking brake rear cable spring (3) by pushing towards the rear parking brake actuator lever (1).
    2. Depress the locking tabs on the right parking brake rear cable.
    3. Pull the right parking brake rear cable out of the rear parking brake anchor backing plate (4).
    4. Remove the right parking brake rear cable (2) through the slot in the rear parking brake anchor backing plate.
  9. Parking Brake Rear Cable- Right Side (2) @ Rear Parking Brake Actuator Lever (1) - Remove
  10. NOTE:

    Note the routing of the right parking brake rear cable for proper installation. Pass the right parking brake rear cable through the parking brake rear cable guides and frame brackets as necessary.

  11. Parking Brake Rear Cable- Right Side (2) - Remove
