Removal Procedure

- Release the park brake.
- Disable the park brake cable adjuster. Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Parking Brake Intermediate Cable (1) @ Parking Brake Rear Cable- Left Side (2) - Disconnect
Parking Brake Rear Cable- Left Side (1) @ Parking Brake Cable Equalizer (2) - Remove
Perform the following procedure to remove the left parking brake rear cable (2) from the rear parking brake anchor backing plate (4).
- Compress the left parking brake rear cable spring (3) by pushing towards the rear parking brake actuator lever (1).
- Depress the locking tabs on the left parking brake rear cable.
- Pull the left parking brake rear cable out of the rear parking brake anchor backing plate (4).
- Remove the left parking brake rear cable (2) through the slot in the rear parking brake anchor backing plate.
- Parking Brake Rear Cable- Left Side (2) @ Rear Parking Brake Actuator Lever (1) - Remove
- Parking Brake Rear Cable- Left Side (2) - Remove
NOTE:
Note the routing of the left parking brake rear cable for proper installation. Pass the left parking brake rear cable through the parking brake rear cable guides and frame brackets as necessary.
