Installation Procedure

- If using NEW spark plugs, do NOT attempt to check the spark plug gap. The plugs come pre-gapped. Ignition System Specifications
- If reusing the spark plugs, inspect for wear or damage. Spark Plug Inspection
Install the spark plug (1) and tighten by hand.
- Tighten the spark plug (1) to:
- Used Head: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- New Aluminum Head: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
- New Iron Head: 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
- Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug. Spark Plug Wire Replacement
- Engine Cover - Install - Engine Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)
