Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)
- Support the axle with jack stands.
Rear Spring U-Bolt Nut(1) - Remove[4x]
- Rear Spring U-Bolt Washer(2) - Remove[4x]
- Rear Spring Anchor Plate(3) - Remove
Rear Spring U-Bolt(1) - Remove and DISCARD[2x]
- Rear Spring U-Bolt Spacer (2) - Remove
- Using the jack stand, lower the axle enough to relieve tension on the rear leaf spring.
Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Frame - Remove
- Rear Spring Bolt(2)@ Frame - Remove
- Rear Spring Nut(3)@ Front Eye - Remove
- Rear Spring Bolt(4)@ Front Eye - Remove
- NOTE:
A second technician is required.
With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear leaf spring (1) from the vehicle.
Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Rear Eye - Remove
- Rear Spring Bolt(2)@ Rear Eye - Remove
- Rear Spring Shackle(3) - Remove
NOTE:
Observe the length and direction this bolt is installed for proper installation.
