Installation Procedure
Rear Spring Shackle(3) - Install
- Rear Spring Bolt(2)@ Rear Eye - Install
- Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Rear Eye - Loosely install
- NOTE:
A second technician is required.
Withe the aid of an assistant, install the rear leaf spring (1) to the vehicle.
Rear Spring Bolt(4)@ Front Eye - Install
- Rear Spring Nut(3)@ Front Eye - Loosely install
- Rear Spring Bolt(2)@ Frame - Install
- Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Frame - Loosely install
- Using the jack stand, raise the axle back into position.
Rear Spring U-Bolt Spacer (2) - Install
- Rear Spring U-Bolt(1) - Install NEW[2x]

Rear Spring Anchor Plate(3) - Install
- Rear Spring U-Bolt Washer(2) - Install[4x]
- Rear Spring U-Bolt Nut(1) - Install and tighten in the criss-cross sequence shown. [4x]
- First Pass:140 N.m (103 lb ft)
- Second Pass:175 - 185 degrees
- Remove the jack stand from the rear axle assembly.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Set the vehicle to curb height. Trim Height Specifications
Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Rear Eye - Tighten160 N.m (118 lb ft)
Rear Spring Nut(3)@ Front Eye - Tighten
- First Pass:100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Second Pass:200 - 220 degrees
- Rear Spring Nut(1)@ Frame - Tighten
- First Pass:140 N.m (103 lb ft)
- Second Pass:175 - 185 degrees
Ensure that the shorter bolt is installed in the correct direction from inboard to outboard in this location.
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fasteners could cause damage to the vehicle, component, or bodily injury.
