Installation Procedure

- Prepare the camshaft retainer bolts and engine block threaded holes for assembly:
- Thoroughly clean the residue from the bolt threads with denatured alcohol and allow to dry.
- Thoroughly clean the residue from the threaded holes of the engine block with denatured alcohol and allow to dry.
- Apply threadlocker to 2/3 of the threaded length of the camshaft retainer bolts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the threadlocker along the filled area of the bolts.
- Allow the threadlocker to cure approximately 10 minutes before installation.

Camshaft (1) - Install
- Camshaft Retainer (2) - Install
- Camshaft Retainer Bolt (3) - Tighten in sequence [4x] 15N.m (11 lb ft)
Camshaft Position Actuator, Timing Chain - Install - Timing Chain, Crankshaft Sprocket, Camshaft Position Actuator, and Solenoid Valve Replacement
- Valve Lifter - Install - Valve Lifter Replacement
- Valve Lifter Follower Guide - Install - Valve Lifter Follower Guide Replacement
- Air Conditioning Condenser - Install - Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement (LV1)
- Radiator - Install - Radiator Replacement (LV1)
NOTE:
The threads of the camshaft retainer bolts and threaded holes of the engine block must be free of residue and debris prior to the application of threadlocker to ensure proper adhesion and fastener retention.
