Removal Procedure

  1. Oil Pump - Remove - Oil Pump Replacement 
  2. Starter - Remove - Starter Replacement (LV1)
  3. Lock the flex plate using the EN-42386-A  Flywheel Holding Tool. Use 1 M10 - 1.5 x 120 mm and 1 M10 - 1.5 x 45 mm bolt for proper tool operation and tighten bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  4. Align timing marks before disassembly. Balancer Shaft and Timing Chain Assembly Installation

    Push down the balance shaft thrust plate torsion spring (1) and install the EN-46330  Tension Pin (2).

    Loosen the balancer shaft bolt (1) and the idler shaft sprocket bolt (2).

    Remove the 2 balancer shaft retainer bolts (1).

  8. Remove the balancer chain guide (2).

    Remove the balancer shaft driven sprocket bolt (1) and the balancer shaft driven sprocket (2).

  10. Remove the balancer shaft chain (3).
