Engine Coolant Manifold Cleaning and Inspection

Clean all excess dirt and debris from the engine coolant manifold housing (9).
- Inspect for leakage between the water inlet flange (4) and the water pump inlet assembly (3).
- Inspect the water pump for the following conditions:
- Gasket and hose sealing surfaces for excessive scratches or gouging
- Restrictions within the internal coolant passages
- Excessive side-to-side play in the pulley shaft
- Leakage at the water inlet housing or water inlet assembly
- Leakage between the water pump housing (9) and the water outlet pipe (5)
- Corrosion, cracking or damage at the water pump air bleed pipe (5)
- Leakage at the heater inlet pipe (5)
- Leakage at the heater outlet pipe (6)
A stain around the vent hole is acceptable. If leakage, dripping, occurs with the engine running and the cooling system pressurized, replace the water pump.
