Installation Procedure
Do not use or attempt to repair a damaged cooling fan assembly. Replace damaged fans with new assemblies. An unbalanced cooling fan could fly apart causing personal injury and property damage.
- NOTE:
Pulley and clutch threads must be wiped with a clean cloth before reassembly.
Fan Blade Clutch(1) @ Fan Pulley - Install
Install a suitable blunt end tool (3) into one of the holes in the fan pulley preventing the pulley from turning allowing the fan clutch to be removed.
- Install J-41240-2 fan clutch wrench (1) with a long breaker bar (2) onto the fan hub nut.
- Turn the fan blade clutch nut clockwise and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Remove J-41240-2 fan clutch wrench (1) with a long breaker bar (2) from the fan hub nut.
- Remove the suitable blunt end tool (3) from the fan pulley.
Engine Wiring Harness(2) @ Fan Blade Clutch - Connect
- Fan Blade Clutch Bolt(1) - Install and tighten9 N.m (80 lb in)
Engine Coolant Fan Rear Shroud(1) - Install - Engine Coolant Fan Rear Shroud Replacement (LWN) , or Engine Coolant Fan Rear Shroud Replacement (LV1)
Fan Blade(1) - Install - Fan Blade Replacement (LWN) , or Fan Blade Replacement (LV1) , or Fan Blade Replacement (L96, LC8)
Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud(1) - Install - Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (LWN) , or Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (LV1) , or Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (L96, LC8)
