Installation Procedure

WARNING:

Do not use or attempt to repair a damaged cooling fan assembly. Replace damaged fans with new assemblies. An unbalanced cooling fan could fly apart causing personal injury and property damage.

NOTE:
Pulley and clutch threads must be wiped with a clean cloth before reassembly.

Fan Blade Clutch(1) @ Fan Pulley - Install

Install a suitable blunt end tool (3) into one of the holes in the fan pulley preventing the pulley from turning allowing the fan clutch to be removed.
Install J-41240-2 fan clutch wrench (1) with a long breaker bar (2) onto the fan hub nut.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Turn the fan blade clutch nut clockwise and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
Remove J-41240-2 fan clutch wrench (1) with a long breaker bar (2) from the fan hub nut.
Remove the suitable blunt end tool (3) from the fan pulley.

Engine Wiring Harness(2) @ Fan Blade Clutch - Connect
Fan Blade Clutch Bolt(1) - Install and tighten9 N.m (80 lb in)
