Installation Procedure

WARNING:

Do not use or attempt to repair a damaged cooling fan assembly. Replace damaged fans with new assemblies. An unbalanced cooling fan could fly apart causing personal injury and property damage.

NOTE:
Fan blade clutch and water pump pulley threads must be wiped with a clean cloth before reassembly.

Fan Blade Clutch(1) @ Fan Blade - Install

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Fan Blade Bolt(2) - Install and tighten[4x]23 N.m (17 lb ft)

Install the fan blade and fan blade clutch as an assembly (1) to the water pump pulley.

Install J-41240 fan clutch remover and installer (2) into the fan and water pump pulley.
Install J-41240-5A fan clutch wrench (1) with the long breaker bar (3) onto the fan blade clutch.
Turn the fan blade clutch clockwise and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
Remove J-41240-5A fan clutch wrench (1) and long breaker bar (3) from the fan blade clutch.
Remove J-41240 fan clutch remover and installer (2) from the fan and water pump pulley.
