Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch.
- Connect a test lamp between the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch voltage control circuit terminal 2 and ground, ignition ON.
- Command the Cooling Fan Solenoid Valve to 50 % with a scan tool.
- Verify the test lamp illuminates and flashes ON and OFF
- If the test lamp illuminates without flashing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the KR20F Cooling Fan Relay, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch voltage control circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than 1 V, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the KR20F Cooling Fan Relay.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp flashes
- Replace the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch.
NOTE:
Engine may have to be running to control the Cooling Fan Solenoid Valve.
