Component Testing

EV Fan Clutch Solenoid Valve Test

  1. Disconnect the harness connector at the cooling fan clutch.
  2. Test for 7 - 17 Ω between terminal B and terminal A of the jumper harness connector.
    • If not within specified range 
    1. Replace the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch.
    • Go to next step: If within specified range 
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the jumper harness terminals listed below.
    • 2 and 5
    • 2 and 4
    • 2 and 3
    • 2 and the fan clutch housing/ground
    • If less than infinite 
    1. Repair or replace the jumper harness.
    • Go to next step: If infinite 
    1. Replace the Q85 Cooling Fan Clutch.
