Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector:
    • X1 @ A23D Door Latch Assembly - Driver
    • X1 @ A23P Door Latch Assembly - Passenger
    • B28F Door Ajar Switch - Right Sliding
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
    • A23D Door Latch Assembly - DriverSignal terminal B & Ground terminal D - The switch is in the open position.
    • A23P Door Latch Assembly - PassengerSignal terminal C & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the open position.
    • B28F Door Ajar Switch - Right SlidingSignal terminal B & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: A23 Door Latch Assembly/B28F Door Ajar Switch - Right Sliding

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:
    • A23D Door Latch Assembly - DriverSignal terminal B & Ground terminal D - The switch is in the closed position.
    • A23P Door Latch Assembly - PassengerSignal terminal C & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the closed position.
    • B28F Door Ajar Switch - Right SlidingSignal terminal B & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the closed position.
    • If 3 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component: A23 Door Latch Assembly/B28F Door Ajar Switch - Right Sliding

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms 
  5. All OK.
