Circuit/System Testing

Test 1

  1. Ignition OFF
  2. Disconnect the X7 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
  3. Momentarily connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 6 and ground.
  4. Verify the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver activates.
    • If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver does not activate 
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wire, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the X52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the 52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    • Go to next step: If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver activates 
  5. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.

Test 2

  1. Ignition OFF
  2. Disconnect the X7 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
  3. Momentarily connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 9 and ground.
  4. Verify the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo activates.
    • If the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo do not activate 
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wire, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the X52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the 52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    • Go to next step: If the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo activates 
  5. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.

Test 3

  1. Ignition OFF
  2. Disconnect the X7 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
  3. Momentarily connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 7 and B+.
  4. Verify the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver, the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo activates.
    • If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver, the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo do not activate 
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wire, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the X52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the K9 Body Control Module control circuit terminal 7 X7 and ground.
      • If less than Infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    3. Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the 52A Fuse Block-Passenger Compartment.
    • Go to next step: If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver, the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger, the M14RR Door Lock Actuator-Right Rear and M13 Door Latch Assembly-Rear Cargo activates 
  5. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
