Component Testing

Test: A23 Door Latch Assembly

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: X1A23 Door Latch Assembly
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
    • A23D Door Latch Assembly - DriverSignal terminal A & Ground terminal D - The switch is in the open position.
    • A23P Door Latch Assembly - PassengerSignal terminal D & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: A23 Door Latch Assembly

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:
    • A23D Door Latch Assembly - DriverSignal terminal A & Ground terminal D - The switch is in the closed position.
    • A23P Door Latch Assembly - PassengerSignal terminal D & Ground terminal A - The switch is in the closed position.
    • If 3 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component: A23 Door Latch Assembly

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms 
  5. All OK.
