Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
    NOTE: Many DTC related repairs will instruct the technician to clear the DTC information. Clearing the DTC will reset the I/M System Status monitors to Incomplete. Performing the I/M Complete System Set Procedure will set each of the I/M System Status monitors to Complete.
  2. Verify there are no Permanent DTCs set - Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
    • If a Permanent DTC is set 
      1. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. - For each Permanent DTC set.
      2. Verify the DTC does not set.
      3. Refer to step
    • If a Permanent DTC is not set 
      NOTE: The parameters listed below are located in the following scan tool data list: Inspection/Maintenance System Status Data
  3. Verify the scan tool parameter:
    • Boost System Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
    • Catalytic Converter Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Evaporative Emission Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Exhaust Aftertreatment Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
    • Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve/Camshaft Position Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Exhaust Gas Sensor Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared
    • Fuel System Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Oxygen Sensor/Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
    • Particulate Filter Monitor - Since Diagnostic Trouble Codes Cleared = Complete or Not Supported
  4. All OK.
