Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 GMC Savana 3500, 2019 GMC Savana 2500, 2019 Chevrolet Express 3500, and 2019 Chevrolet Express 2500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE:

You must perform the Circuit/System Verification before proceeding with the Circuit/System Testing.

  1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module.
  2. Disconnect the X189 jumper harness male and female connectors from the components listed below.
    • B75B MAF/IAT sensor
    • Engine harness connector
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module signal circuits listed below and ground.
    • Terminal 6
    • Terminal 16
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  4. Connect the male and female X189 jumper harness connectors together.
  5. Test for less than 2 Ω, in the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module signal circuits, between the terminals listed below.
    • Terminal 6
    • Terminal 16
    • If 2 Ω or greater

Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω
  6. Ignition ON.
  7. Test for less than 1 V between the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module signal circuits listed below and ground.
    • Terminal 6
    • Terminal 16
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  8. Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit terminal 10 and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater
    1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the FICM harness connector.
    2. Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between the control circuit terminal 10 and ground.
      • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

      • If less than 1 V

        Replace the FICM.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  9. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the FICM harness connector.
  10. Test for less than 2 Ω, end to end in the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module control circuit terminal 10.
    • If 2 Ω or greater

Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω
  11. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF.
  12. Test for infinite resistance between the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module control circuit terminal 10 and ground.
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  13. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF.
  14. Replace the K130 Fuel Pump Disable Control Module.
  15. Connect any harnesses or components disconnected during testing.
  16. Engine idling for at least 2 minutes after the ECT scan tool parameter is at least 65°C (149°F).
  17. Verify the vehicle is operating in CNG mode.
    • If not in CNG mode

      Replace the FICM.

    • Go to next step: If CNG Mode is enabled
  18. All OK.
