WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 GMC Savana 3500, 2019 GMC Savana 2500, 2019 Chevrolet Express 3500, and 2019 Chevrolet Express 2500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: Q17 Fuel Injector
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: Ignition circuit terminal 1/A & Ground
- If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is OK
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off & Remove - Test lamp
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:
- { DTC P0201, P0203, P0205, P0207, P0261, P0262, P0267, P0268, P0273, P0274, P0279, P0280 } Ignition circuit terminal 1/A & Output terminal @ F65UA Fuse
- { DTC P0202, P0204, P0206, P0208, P0264, P0265, P0270, P0271, P0276, P0277, P0282, P0283 } Ignition circuit terminal 1/A & Output terminal @ F79UA Fuse
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Verify the fuse is OK and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is open
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off & Remove - Test lamp
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Ignition circuit terminal 1/A & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance - Replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
- Remove - Test Lamp
- Install the special tool: J-44603 Injector Test Lamp - Ignition circuit terminal 1/A & Control circuit terminal 2/B
- Engine - Cranking
- Verify the test lamp flashes
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Remove the special tool: J-44603 Injector Test Lamp
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X2 @ K20 Engine Control Module
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Test for less than 1 V between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2/B @ Component harness & Ground
- If 1 V or greater - Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2/B @ Component harness &
- { Q17A Fuel Injector 1 } Terminal 2 @ Control module harness
- { Q17B Fuel Injector 2 } Terminal 5 @ Control module harness
- { Q17C Fuel Injector 3 } Terminal 9 @ Control module harness
- { Q17D Fuel Injector 4 } Terminal 8 @ Control module harness
- { Q17E Fuel Injector 5 } Terminal 7 @ Control module harness
- { Q17F Fuel Injector 6 } Terminal 6 @ Control module harness
- { Q17G Fuel Injector 7 } Terminal 4 @ Control module harness
- { Q17H Fuel Injector 8 } Terminal 3 @ Control module harness
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the test lamp is always On
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off & Remove - Test lamp
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X2 @ K20 Engine Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2/B @ Component harness & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance - Replace the component: K20 Engine Control Module
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On and Off
- Test or replace the component: Q17 Fuel Injector
