Rear Axle Shaft and Gasket Replacement

Preliminary Procedure Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels) .
1	Axle Shaft Bolt [8x] CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: First pass at 50 N.m (37 lb ft). Final pass an additional 41 degrees.

3	Rear Axle Shaft Gasket NOTE: When installing the NEW gasket, apply a small amount of clean grease to hold the gasket in place while aligning the mounting hole in the axle shaft and the hub.
