Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Dust Warning .

  1. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)

    Parking Brake Rear Cable (2) @ Rear Parking Brake Actuator Lever (1) - Remove - Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side , or Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side

    NOTE:

    Do not separate the brake rotor from the wheel hub.

    Rear Brake Rotor and Hub Assembly (1) - Remove - Rear Axle Hub, Bearing, Cup, and/or Seal Replacement

    Rear Parking Brake Shoe (1) - Remove [2x] - Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JH6) , or Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JH9)

    Rear Parking Brake Actuator Lever (1) @ Rear Brake Shield (2) - Remove

    Rear Brake Shield Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]

    Rear Parking Brake Actuator Boot (2) @ Rear Brake Shield (1) - Remove
