Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Dust Warning .
- CAUTION:
Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak.
NOTE:Do NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper.
Remove the rear brake caliper and bracket assembly (1) and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JH6) , or Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JH9)
Rear Disc Brake Outer Pad (2) - Remove
- Rear Disc Brake Inner Pad (1) - Remove
Rear Disc Brake Pad Retainer Spring (1) - Remove [4x]
Rear Brake Caliper Bracket (1) @ Rear Brake Caliper - Remove - Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JH9) , or Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JH6)
Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin Boot (1) - Remove [2x] - Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Single Rear Wheel) , or Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Dual Rear Wheel)
- Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin Seal (2) - Remove [2x] - Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Single Rear Wheel) , or Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Dual Rear Wheel)
Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin- Upper (1) - Remove
- Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin- Lower (2) - Remove
- Inspect the rear disc brake hardware. Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Single Rear Wheel) , or Rear Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (With Dual Rear Wheel)
- NOTE:
The lower Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin is equipped with a bushing.
Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin Bushing (1) - Remove
The lower Rear Brake Caliper Guide Pin is equipped with a bushing.
