Removal Procedure

WARNING:
- Inspect the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.
- If the fluid level is midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, no fluid needs to be removed from the reservoir before proceeding.
- If the brake fluid level is higher than midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, remove brake fluid to the midway point before proceeding.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Without Dual Rear Wheels) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (With Dual Rear Wheels)
- Place a large C-clamp over the brake caliper body and against the outer brake pad.
- Using the C-clamp, carefully compress the brake caliper piston fully into the brake caliper bore.
- Clean all dirt and foreign material from the brake hose ends and the brake pipe fitting.
Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
Do NOT reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.
Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (1) @ Brake Hose Fitting (2) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
- Cap the brake hose fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Caliper Guide Pin Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
