Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the S86 Vehicle Stability Control System Switch.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between terminal 6 and B+
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 

      Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1450 or the ground connection.

    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  3. Ignition ON.
  4. Test for more than 5 V between terminal 3 and ground
    • If less than 5 V 
    1. Test circuit 1428 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 1428 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Test or replace the S86 Vehicle Stability Control System Switch.
    4. Verify the DTC does not set
      • If the DTC sets

        Replace the K9 Body Control Module

      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
    5. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If more than 5 V 
  5. Test or replace the S86 Vehicle Stability Control System Switch.
