Circuit/System Description

Automatic Vehicle Hold is a driver-enabled feature that holds the vehicle at a standstill for an indefinite amount of time. This feature will function on all road grades. It must be enabled by the driver and will revert to a disabled state upon key-up. During operation, Automatic Vehicle Hold will use the friction brakes to hold the vehicle, then transfer hold to electronic park brake when necessary.

The body control module monitors the signal circuit 1428 from the automatic vehicle hold switch and the switch receives a constant ground on circuit 1450. When the automatic vehicle hold switch is pressed, the body control module requests the electronic brake control module via serial data to apply the brakes.
