Removal Procedure

  1. Set the park brake.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Base) , or Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ZL1) , or Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Convertible)

    Disconnect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin.

  4. Remove the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer bracket bolt (4) and remove the bracket (5).
  5. Remove the two cable retainer bolts (7) from the transmission crossmember.

    Remove the automatic transmission range selector lever cable guide nut (1).

  7. Slide the retainer (3) rearward to release the automatic transmission range selector lever cable from the bracket.
  8. Remove the front floor console. Front Floor Console Replacement

    NOTE:

    Mark the orientation of the grommet to the floor panel for installation.

    Remove the grommet and cable assembly (1) from the floor panel.

  10. Remove the cable bracket bolt (3).
  11. Slide the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer rearward (5) and remove the transmission range selector cable from the transmission control base.
  12. Disconnect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable terminal (6) from the shift lever pin (7).
  13. Remove the automatic transmission range selector lever cable (2) from the vehicle.
