Installation Procedure

    Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable (2) into the vehicle.

  2. Connect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable terminal (6) to the shift lever pin (7).
  3. Install the automatic transmission range selector cable to the transmission control base by pressing down until it seats into place.
  4. Slide the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer forward (5).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the cable bracket bolt (3) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
    6. NOTE:

    Ensure the grommet is properly oriented.

  6. Install the grommet and cable assembly (1) into the floor panel with alignment key opening.

    WARNING:

    After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.

    Connect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) to the transmission manual shift lever pin.

  9. Install the two cable retainer bolts (7) to the transmission crossmember and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable guide nut (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable into the bracket and ensure cable is fully seated.
  12. Slide the retainer (3) forward to lock the transmission range selector lever cable to the bracket.
  13. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer bracket (5).
  14. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer bracket bolt (4) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  15. Adjust the automatic transmission range selector lever cable. Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
