4-5-6-7-8 Reverse Clutch Releases
Manual Valve
The manual valve is moved to the Neutral position and blocks line pressure from entering the reverse and drive fluid circuits. The reverse fluid from the default override valve, #1 and #2 ball check valve is opened to a exhaust passage at the manual valve.
4-5-6-7-8 Reverse Control Solenoid
The 4-5-6-7-8 reverse control solenoid. is commanded off. The 45678 rev cont valve spring force moves the valve to allow S5 VFS SIG fluid to exhaust through the 45678 rev control solenoid. This also allows 45678R CL FDBK and 45678R CLUTCH fluid to exhaust into the EX BACKFILL fluid circuit.
1-2-3-4-5 Reverse Boost Solenoid
The 1-2-3-4-5 reverse boost solenoid is commanded off. This allows S8 ON/OFF BOOST SIGNAL fluid to exhaust through the 1-2-3-4-5 rev boost solenoid.
1-2-3-4-5 Reverse Clutch Boost Valve
The 12345R clutch boost valve spring force moves the valve to allow EX BACKFILL fluid to enter 12345 CL KNOCKDOWN. When REV fluid is exhausted the #1 ball check valve seats against the REV circuit allowing 23468 CLU fluid to enter 23468 CL/REV circuit.
#10 Ball Check Valve
When 45678R CLUTCH fluid is exhausted the #10 ball check valve unseats allowing 23468 CLUTCH fluid to enter the 45678R CL/23468 CL fluid circuit which is directed through orifice #56 to the lube override enable valve and through orifice #57 to the default override valve.
4-5-6-7-8 Reverse Clutch Assembly
45678R CLUTCH fluid is exhausted from the 4-5-6-7- 8 reverse clutch assembly through orifice #42. 45678R CLUTCH fluid continues to the 45678R control valve where it is directed thru orifice #30 into EX BACKFILL.
