Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Remove the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module from the vehicle. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Removal and Installation (LGX)
- NOTE:
Place shop towels over the carpeting to prevent possible damage.
Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe retaining clip (1) from the clutch master cylinder.
- Disconnect the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (2) from the clutch master cylinder.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Convertible)
Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (2) retaining clip from the clutch slave cylinder.
- Disconnect the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (2) from the clutch slave cylinder. Plug the lower hose end.
- Lower the vehicle.
Remove grommet (1) from the floor panel and then remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe.
Install a cap or plug to the exposed hose and clutch master cylinder fittings in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
Care must be taken when disassembling the clutch actuator cylinder hose connector from the clutch actuator cylinder. Do not remove, misposition, or damage the internal restrictor valve/Peak Torque Limiter (PTL). Operating a vehicle with a removed, mispositioned, or damaged PTL valve could result in severe driveline damage.
