Oil Pan and Engine Oil Cooler Installation

Preliminary Procedure 
Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant: Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
1 Oil Pan

Procedure

    NOTE:
    • The oil pan sealing surface and lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
    • Install and align the oil pans within 20 minutes of applying the sealer.
  1. Apply a 4.25 mm bead of sealer on the level part of the flange around the perimeter of the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  2. Align the locating pins and install the oil pan on the lower crankcase.
2 Oil Pan Bolt [10x]
NOTE:

Install all oil pan bolts finger tight, then tighten in the sequence shown.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
3 Oil Pan Bolt
NOTE:

Install all oil pan bolts finger tight, then tighten in the sequence shown.


Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
4 Oil Pan Bolt [2x]
NOTE:

Tighten the oil pan bolts in the sequence shown.


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
5 Engine Oil Cooler Seal - Model Dependent
NOTE:

Engine Oil Cooler components are not present for models with Y4Q option.

NOTE:

Use a NEW seal.

6 Engine Oil Cooler - Model Dependent
7 Engine Oil Cooler Connector - Model Dependent
Tighten 
50 N.m (37 lb ft)
8 Engine Oil Cooler Bolt - Model Dependent
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
