Installation Procedure

NOTE:
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installing the sensor. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Use wire or suitable device to route the sensor connector through the oil pan opening.
- If reinstalling the sensor, replace the O-ring (2) around the level sensor.
Install the engine oil level sensor (1).

Install the oil level indicator harness onto the retainer (1).

NOTE:
Pull the sensor connector (2) through the connector opening and ensure that it is properly seated.

Install the engine oil level sensor C-clip (1).

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the engine oil level sensor fasteners (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector (1).
