Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system: HO2S Heater
- If a related DTC is set
- Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set
- Verify the condition does not exist:
- B52 Heated Oxygen Sensor - Water intrusion @Harness Connector
- Coolant consumption - Refer to: Loss of Coolant
- Engine - Vacuum leak
- Engine Oil - Oil consumption - Refer to: Oil Consumption Diagnosis
- Evaporative Emission Canister - Saturated with fuel
- Exhaust System - Cracked/Leaking/Loose Clamps/Missing components/Restricted - Refer to: Symptoms - Engine Exhaust
- Fuel - Contaminated/Poor Quality - Refer to: Alcohol/Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis
- Fuel Injectors - Restricted/Stuck - Refer to: Fuel Injector Diagnosis
- Fuel Pressure - High/Low - Refer to: Fuel System Diagnosis (without NPP) , or Fuel System Diagnosis (with NPP)
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the appropriate component: B52 Heated Oxygen Sensor
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
