Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) 
  2. Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LT1) , or Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LT4)
1 Water Pump Bolt [6x]
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Water Pump Gasket
Procedure 
Install a NEW water pump gasket.
3 Water Pump
Procedure 
Carefully clean the water pump sealing surfaces.
