Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Lower deck lid during looping of weatherstrip around deck lid to avoid chipping paint at deck lid corners
Place rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) around outside of deck lid flange and under the deck lid of the rear compartment with the rip cords inside the rear compartment.
- Install rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) to the bottom center of the deck lid Flange. Seam of weatherstrip needs to be in center of deck lid opening.
Starting at point (a), install rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) into deck lid flange and work weatherstrip along the bottom, moving up the right side and along the top of the deck lid flange to point (b). Make sure the weatherstrip is fully seated to the flange.
- Starting at point (a), install rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) into deck lid flange and work weatherstrip along the bottom, moving up the left side and along the top of deck lid flange to point (b). Make sure the weatherstrip is fully seated to the flange.
- Work slack from top center of rear compartment lid weatherstrip point (b) evenly across the right side and left side around hinge to waterfall. Make sure weatherstrip (1) is fully seated to the flange.
- After rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) is installed, slowly pull weatherstrip rip cord inward and downward along the weatherstrip. Hold upper corners down when pulling rip cord.
- Physically check for gaps or wrinkles in rear compartment lid weatherstrip (1) and smooth out the weatherstrip.
- Connect the electrical connector and position the wiring harness to the rear compartment lid.
NOTE:
Do NOT pull rip cords until rear compartment lid weatherstrip is installed and fully seated in the deck lid flange.
